He has a Master&#8217;s degree in Social History from UFRJ, is a history professor, popular educator, writer, poet and composer, and has published more than thirty books on Brazilian street cultures. Since the publication of his first book,    <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O vidente m\u00edope<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Folha Seca, 2009), was a finalist for the Jabuti Prize on three occasions, with the works<\/span> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coisas nossas<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Jos\u00e9 Olympio, 2017),<\/span> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> O corpo encantado das ruas<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Civiliza\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira, 2019) and<\/span> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sonetos de birosca e poemas de terreiro<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Jos\u00e9 Olympio, 2022), his first book of poetry. He won the same award in the 2016 Book of the Year category, in partnership with Nei Lopes, for  <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dicion\u00e1rio da hist\u00f3ria social do samba<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Civiliza\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira, 2015). His songs have been recorded by artists such as Maria Rita, Marcelo D2, Criolo, Rita Benneditto and Fabiana Cozza. He also served as curator of the exhibitions \u201cCr\u00f4nicas cariocas\u201d (Rio de Janeiro Art Museum), alongside Concei\u00e7\u00e3o Evaristo; \u201cSemba\/Samba: bodies and crossings\u201d, alongside Nei Lopes and with artistic curation and museographic project by carnival artists Leonardo Bora and Gabriel Haddad; and \u201cAos her\u00f3is da liberdade\u201d (Samba Museum\/RJ), with Gringo Cardia. In July 2024, he published    <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maldito invento dum baronete: uma breve hist\u00f3ria do jogo do bicho<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (M\u00f3rula). At this moment, he is finishing two books:  <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dicion\u00e1rio das culturas encantadas do Brasil<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besti\u00e1rio brasileiro de visagens e assombra\u00e7\u00f5es<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":26831,"template":"","categoria_de_autor":[3],"edicao-do-autor":[114],"class_list":["post-27406","autores","type-autores","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_de_autor-principal","edicao-do-autor-114"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.5 -
